Ciociaria & Molise
EXPLORING THE WILD HEART OF ITALY
Home for the week is an 18th century aristocratic Palazzo in a hilltop village in the Apennine mountains of Ciociaria, overlooking the Valle di Comino [Comino Valley].
This area of Ciociaria is renowned for its organic and biodynamic farms & vineyards, and for its transhumance practices for husbanding herds of sheep, goats and cattle in the mountain meadows during the summer months. It is deeply connected to the ancient Sanniti civilisation of the Bronze Age and neighbouring Molise. Itinerary focuses on exploring the Valle di Comino of Ciociaria, with a day trip to Molise.
